EmBe, also known as Matthew Burton, is a musician and artist based in the Canary Islands. Originally from Brighton, UK, Matt has always been deeply passionate about music. Seven years ago, he began exploring the world of photographic manipulation, adding a striking visual dimension to his creative practice.

Matt’s musical journey began at age nine, playing side drum in a marching band—a formative experience that sparked a lifelong dedication to music. He is the drummer for indie rock group The Dream Escape, a band formed in 1992 that continues to perform together to this day. He also played bass in the band Thirsty. A versatile multi-instrumentalist, Matt's current work leans more toward Deep House.

Matt introduced the character EmBe seven years ago as a way to express himself through visual art. Beginning with mixed media and photography, he soon gravitated toward photographic manipulation as his primary medium. His work often carries a strong political message or serves as social commentary, reflecting his perspective on contemporary issues.
